Fairmont, WV – Integrated Software Metrics, Inc. (ISM) unveils the third version of the company’s successful error prediction software called Predictive. Company President Mike Chapman calls Predictive 3.0 the ‘perfect storm’ for software code error prediction.

“It’s much like a physical exam for software,” Chapman explained. “It’s designed to evaluate the code within software while it is being written and predicts where problems can occur down the line.”

“The Predictive line of products is the cornerstone of our improvement initiative for code quality,” explained Chris O'Brien, Process Suite Development Manager of Matrikon, Inc., “we use it to monitor code quality.”

Matrikon was one of 180 users who beta-tested Predictive 3.0 beginning in November 2006.

“Predictive 3.0 provides us insight into the fundamental structure of our code which allows us to make significant improvements in overall quality,” O’Brien said, “thus reducing the post-release maintenance effort required from our most experienced developers.”

“This tool helps organizations like Matrikon predict defects in software code before it reaches critical phases of the cycle,” said ISM Chief Technology Officer Justin DiStefano. “So, it allows software developers to focus their resources to fix the code sooner and at a much lower cost.”

Predictive 3.0 includes the following expanded features:

• The user now has the ability to create his or her own metrics
• Object oriented metrics
• Search capability for code strings
• Three Artificial Intelligence (AI) learners
• The user can set his or her own threshold for error prediction
• A reconfigured user interface
